Bikingo 4.0 (build 350) is submitted for App Store review. It is the largest release since 1.0, and the first public one since 3.0.1.
Every release so far has been about looking backwards: how far, how often, how much of that was new. 4.0 is the first that looks forward.
Suggest a ride
Tell Bikingo how long you have — thirty minutes, ninety, or your own number — and where you are starting from. It proposes familiar outings that fit.
The important part is where the times come from. They are not a model, a forecast, or a finish-time prediction. They are what these rides have actually taken you, read out of your own recorded history. When a route has too few comparable completions to say anything useful, Bikingo says that instead of guessing, and it shows at most three suggestions. Travel to the start is not included, and it does not know about traffic or weather.
A redesign, not a reskin
Dashboard, Ride History, Ride Detail, Statistics and the Garage were all reworked — mostly around reading order and density rather than decoration.
The Dashboard now leads with the calendar period you are in: distance, time and climbing, over a heatmap of the days you rode. Ride History groups by month on compact map cards you can recognise at a glance. Ride Detail puts the title above the map and the four metrics that matter before the elevation chart, with photos beside notes. Statistics gets compact Eddington and lifetime cards and a single Month/Season/Year reflection card. The Garage leads with your bicycles, their lifetime mileage and what is due for service.
One small fix worth naming: a ride with no elevation data no longer draws an elevation profile it does not have.
Release notes
- Added Suggest a ride: familiar outings that fit the time you have, timed from your own recorded history.
- Added Collections: group rides into named sets with a combined summary, their routes on one map, and photos you choose. Removing a ride from a collection never deletes the workout.
- Search now reaches your whole indexed history rather than the page in front of you, and says plainly when coverage is still incomplete.
- Added saved searches: name a query you keep running, reopen it, and update its filters.
- Added route corrections: merge, split, move or exclude a familiar-route match when Health’s route data groups rides wrongly — with undo, and without touching notes, favorites, photos or collection membership.
- Added active-day goals, which count days ridden rather than distance. Several rides on one day count once, and you can inspect the days that counted.
- Added one-time intentions: explore somewhere new, or ride a chosen route, by the end of the week or month. An unfinished one ends quietly, with no failure badge.
- Added momentum breaks: silence goals, suggestions and celebrations for a while without losing a single ride.
- Bicycles in the Garage can carry their own photo.
- Redesigned the Dashboard, Ride History, Ride Detail, Statistics and Garage screens.
- Refreshed the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch screenshot set, plus marketing screenshots for App Store and website use.
Everything built since 3.0.1 arrives with this release too: trophies, familiar routes with screens of their own, On This Day and the Memories widget, WeatherKit forecasts on ride suggestions, a yearly distance widget, and full iPhone Duo support.
As always: no account, no sync, no backend, no AI. Everything above is worked out on your device from your own Apple Health history.
Weather is the one exception worth naming, and it is off by default. It is the only network call in a core loop, so with the switch untouched the app makes none — which is exactly what keeps the claim honest for anyone who never touches it.
Short version: Bikingo 4.0 stops being only a record of what you rode, and starts helping you decide what to ride next.
